The Whitecap Yacht Club will feature a marina, pool, pool bar, dining facilities, and private gathering spaces. It will be for property owners, but they are currently working on possibly making it available to others with a membership. It will be adjacent to a state-of-the-art automated dry stack boat storage facility near the Don Patricio Bridge. PICKLEBALL – The Flour Bluff High School tennis courts are available to the community for pickleball for the month of May. The times are Sundays 1 – 6 pm and Mondays/Wednesdays 6 – 9 pm. The cost is $10 for individuals and $20 for families. Here is the link to register:
Padre Boat Tours is now available on weekends and in its second year is adding a beautiful loop cruise through the Don Patricio Bridge to their dolphin and sunset tours. Captain’s Diner is set to open in mid-May. This photo shows the bar, drive-up window for order pickup, two of the ten booths, and one of the group round tables. There are photos of the Island back in the day and of Owner Minas’ coastal hometown back in Greece throughout the restaurant. One of the walls has photos of Hollywood stars from the 1940s and 1950s that he had at his City Diner downtown before he opened the diner in Beeville.

The Star Wars Day 5K Run ($30) and 1K Kids Run ($15) will be held on Saturday, May 4th , at 8 a.m. at the Briscoe Pavilion. It is a Flour Bluff High School Community Booster to raise funds to modernize the cafeteria. There will be a costume contest, caricatures by art students, face painting, music, prizes, and more.
